Alix Refshauge is a native of Spartanburg, SC. She has a BA in studio art from Furman University and a MPA in Arts Management from the College of Charleston. She has had various jobs in the arts including as an Administrative Assistant at Christie’s Auction House in NYC, as the Director of the the Artists-in-Residence Program at HUB-BUB in SC, and as a Research and Special Projects Coordinator at the Alliance of Artists Communities based out of Providence, RI. She currently serves as the Interim Executive Director at the Spartanburg Art Museum. Historically, a painter, her work is a celebration of place and time. She currently lives in Spartanburg with her husband, two kids, and one big dog. She spends her time painting, teaching/practicing yoga, and running/riding trails.
